WHY CROCHET TRIANGLES?

Crocheted triangles are incredibly versatile—you can use them for shawls, bunting, garments, or even as building blocks for larger motifs. They're a great way to explore shaping in crochet, and because of their structure, they help build confidence in increasing stitches and maintaining symmetry.

ROUNDS - MADE FROM THE CENTER OUT

These triangles are surprisingly easy to make. We start in the center and build outward, using only basic stitches like the chain and double crochet. Once you understand the rhythm of where to place increases, it becomes second nature. And the best part? The same increase principle works for many other shapes too. See our article on Simple Crocheted Square

Let's tackle our Triangle in several different ways. Everyone's learning style is different. There might be a way that speaks to you more clearly, but I encourage you to eventually figure out each of them.

I’ve included:

  • Step-by-step written instructions with stitch counts and notes
  • A clear stitch chart so you can visualize the triangle's structure
  • A video tutorial where I walk you through every round so you can follow along in real time

Whether you're a visual learner or prefer reading patterns, you’ll find everything you need to succeed. Give it a try—and don’t forget to share your triangle with the community!

If desired, continue making round with dc in each st, but instead of using (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in each corner, try using (3 dc, 4 ch, 3 dc) in each corner. A smaller triangle will look good with the instructions given, but a larger one would benefit from more acute angles - which is (3 dc, 4 ch, 3 dc).
